Situated against the lush, undulating coastline of Phuket, this expansive residential project represents a rigorous dialogue between tropical modernism and European sophistication. Realised in collaboration with L’Artigianato, the Milan-based design studio helmed by creative director Eric Egan, the home is conceived as a serene observation deck—a meticulously detailed vessel designed to frame and mediate the vibrant landscape of the Andaman Sea.

Within this robust architectural shell, Egan’s curation of interiors introduces a highly tactile, restrained materiality. The chromatic palette is deliberately muted, relying on sand, cream, and warm stone hues to defer to the exterior landscape. Furnishings establish a quiet tension between contemporary volume and modernist heritage. Generous, curved modular seating arrangements are juxtaposed with iconic silhouettes, including a leather Le Corbusier LC4 chaise longue and classic mid-century wingback chairs.

Material contrast is central to the project's interior narrative. The solidity of marble-topped nested tables and dark stone desks is softened by textured linen upholstery, woven seating elements, and the introduction of artisanal ikat textiles. In the private quarters, the material language becomes even more intimate, culminating in a bathroom suite where a freestanding soaking tub rests beside a window, offering an immersive, elemental bathing experience. Ultimately, the project succeeds as a cultivated sanctuary—a space where the rigour of Italian design philosophy elevates the relaxed cadence of tropical living.
