The Check cabinet is part of the collection of the same name designed by Elisa Ossino for SEM. The focus of the entire collection is based on textures and color contrasts and is distinguished by the "check" of the surfaces, a grid dotted with a line one millimeter thick. Usually associated with the world of laminates, here the print reveals the grain of the wood. The same unexpected combination of material and finish is found in the Bauhaus-inspired tubular iron structure, covered with a liquid rubber paint that tones down its rigor. The black Valchromat profile accentuates the graphic aspect of the whole, recalling the two-dimensionality of a sketch. Contemporary, with a nostalgic soul, Check chooses a palette of light and vibrant colors, where the shades of gray are brightened by pink, red, sky blue and grass green.
SEM
Eight series collections with the quality of a limited edition, designed and made in Italy. Seven designers who share an artisanal approach to design and refinement of details. This is the soul of SEM, a private label born in 2018 to realize thirty years of experience in retail and interior design. SEM translates its philosophy of living into a refined and multifaceted line of furniture, where elegance is also a symptom of the intelligence of the construction solutions. A proposal rich in sartorial details, with a constant attention to the functionality and contemporaneity of industrial design.
Elisa Ossino
Elisa Ossino is an Italian architect and designer, known for her minimalist and conceptual approach that combines geometry, light and natural materials. Founder of Elisa Ossino Studio, she works between architecture, interior design and art direction. She has collaborated with major brands, including SEM (Spotti Edizioni Milano), with whom she has developed collections that explore the relationship between form and material with an essential and sophisticated aesthetic. Her work is distinguished by a balance between formal rigour and poetic sensitivity, making her one of the most interesting voices in contemporary design.
