Designed by Hannes Peer for SEM, Alea is part of the Paesaggio collection. It was born from an idea of deconstructing the basic elements that make up the chair: this division into separate elements means that at first glance it is not clear how the elements are actually held together. The cornerstone of Hannes Peer's design philosophy is to transform the perception of an object from everyday use, making it more attractive but at the same time comfortable. The Alea chair finds its conceptual roots in the search for 'purity' carried out in the 70s by Pierre Cardin and is deeply inspired by the craftsmanship that forms the basis of Pierre Chapo's carpentry work. The large curved backrest offers ample support for the back and can also be used to rest the arms. It offers exceptional seating comfort thanks to the padded seat and its iconic swinging backrest.
SEM
Eight series collections with the quality of a limited edition, designed and made in Italy. Seven designers who share an artisanal approach to design and refinement of details. This is the soul of SEM, a private label born in 2018 to realize thirty years of experience in retail and interior design. SEM translates its philosophy of living into a refined and multifaceted line of furniture, where elegance is also a symptom of the intelligence of the construction solutions. A proposal rich in sartorial details, with a constant attention to the functionality and contemporaneity of industrial design.
