A villa inspired by the horizon

A villa inspired by the horizon

A villa overlooking the coast south of Sidney from a high promontory. On the one hand, the Pacific Ocean and the flat line of the horizon. On the other, the green of the Australian countryside. Designed by architects Philip Thalis and Laura Harding, the villa was named the 2019 House of the Year by Habitus magazine.

The architecture is modern, with an essential aspect that minimizes its impact on the landscape. The materials combine modernity and tradition: the concrete walls are heated by ancient oak floors.

The interior also reflects this philosophy. In the living area, where huge windows overlook the sea, there is a dining room, living room and kitchen, with refined and elegant design furnishings. The same style is also found in the sleeping area, overlooking the palm trees of the internal garden and the countryside behind.
