HARDCORE unfolds as a layered exhibition, from the central installation presenting CORE to a broader dialogue with past SEM collections, extending to Tacchini’s updated pieces on the lower level and concluding outdoors with FAST’s open-air settings.
HARDCORE is the central installation of the exhibition, conceived by Hannes Peer to present CORE in its most uncompromising form. The space is reduced to its essentials, where mass, proportion, and surface define the experience. Solid wood is treated as both structure and expression, establishing a direct and immersive relationship between object, material, and architecture.

The HARDCORE installation amplifies the collection’s vision by reducing the space to its essential elements, emphasizing the material presence of the pieces. The outcome is a stripped-back, immersive environment where mass, proportion, and surface take center stage.

HANNES PEER ARCHITECTURE
The exhibition extends beyond the main installation, continuing through a curated presentation of SEM collections from previous years. Operating at the intersection of design and collectible culture, SEM develops projects with international designers through a process rooted in research, material exploration, and a close dialogue between concept and production. Each collection is conceived as a precise statement, where limited production enhances the clarity of the idea rather than its exclusivity.

Displayed together, these works trace a coherent yet evolving language, where diverse approaches converge around shared principles: structural rigor, formal reduction, and a sustained attention to material presence. The juxtaposition of past and present pieces establishes a temporal continuity, highlighting SEM’s commitment to developing design as an ongoing investigation rather than a series of isolated releases.

On the -1 floor, the exhibition shifts in tone and atmosphere to present Tacchini, introducing a more domestic and immersive dimension. A selection of iconic and recent pieces is showcased in new finishes and colors, highlighting the brand’s ongoing exploration of upholstery, comfort, and material nuance. Softer volumes and tactile surfaces contrast with the rigor of the upper level, creating a spatial rhythm defined by depth, warmth, and compositional layering.

Outdoors, the garden hosts the FAST Outdoor collection. Surrounded by greenery, the setting emphasizes lightness and durability, positioning the pieces within a more relaxed, open environment while maintaining a coherent design language across all sections of the exhibition.

Together, these environments articulate a continuous progression across the exhibition, where differing approaches to form, material, and use coexist within a unified curatorial vision.
