The Talide armchair, designed in 1975 by Mario Bonacina and Renzo Mongiardino for Bonacina 1889, is a design classic that combines craftsmanship and natural materials. Its structure is made of rattan, with a wicker or Indian cane weave, available in different finishes. The seat cushion is made of polyurethane foam, offering comfort and refinement.
Bonacina
Bonacina 1889 was born in 2015 from the merger of the two companies Vittorio Bonacina and Pierantonio Bonacina. In 1889, in Lurago d'Erba, Giovanni and Pietro Bonacina founded the company Fratelli Bonacina, drawing inspiration from the local tradition of basket making and applying the technique of weaving rush and wicker to the world of furniture. Over the years, the two brothers took different paths and created the two companies, reunited today after years of separation.
Mario Bonacina
Born in 1947, he grew up in a creative environment influenced by his father Vittorio's work with designers such as Albini and Ponti. After his studies, he joined the family business in the 70s, becoming a designer and managerial figure. His work focuses on wicker, a material that he studies and reworks in each collection, combining Italian craftsmanship and innovation. By collaborating with various designers, Mario manages to keep the family tradition alive, combining the past and innovation in contemporary design.
Renzo Mongiardino
Creator of spectacular spaces, he has created fascinating interiors for an exclusive public. The theme of luxury and décor also contaminates his wicker furnishings, where he manages to tame the material with taste and rare mastery.
His ideas, his rapid sketches, came to fruition thanks to the relationship of trust and collaboration with Mario Bonacina, a profound expert in manufacturing techniques: pieces like Fidia and 978, timeless classics, have influenced decorators all over the world.
