Giotto Stoppino

Giotto Stoppino was an Italian architect, urban planner and designer. Born in Vigevano in 1926, he graduated from the IUAV University of Venice and the Polytechnic of Milan: he was a student of Ernesto Nathan Rogers, one of the major exponents of the Neoliberty movement, who involved him in some projects of his BBPR studio and in the drafting of some articles for the magazine "Casabella". In 1951 he curated the room dedicated to "Architecture as measured by man" at the IX Triennale of Milan. In 1952 he founded his Architetti Associati studio in Novara, together with Lodovico Meneghetti and Vittorio Gregotti, with whom he already worked on the Triennale. The study was very prolific, especially in urban planning matters. In 1968 he founded his own independent studio and began collaborating with brands such as Acerbis, ArteLuce, Kartell and Draide. During his life he received the Compasso d'Oro Award three times.
