Murano glass grit
Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Glas Italia, the Simoon collection includes low tables, high tables, consoles and a writing desk, all made with UV-glued extralight glass sheets. The surface of each piece is enriched with a special Murano glass grit, ground and polished on the outside of the sheet. The collection is available in amethyst, light blue and topaz.
Glas Italia
Founded in Macherio, Brianza, in 1972, Glas Italia is a company that stands out for the production of furniture and accessories entirely in glass. Patricia Urquiola
Patricia Urquiola, born in Oviedo in 1961, graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1989 with a thesis on "Living as a system", under the guidance of Achille Castiglioni. He began his career with collaborations with designers such as Castiglioni, Botticelli, De Padova and Magistretti. In 2001 he opened his own studio in Milan, now made up of around 70 people, where he deals with the design of objects, interiors, architecture and installations. His work is inspired by the tradition of his land, reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
