Olivia Cognet is a French artist and designer working between art and design, with a practice rooted in ceramics. Based in Vallauris, in the south of France, a historic centre of ceramic culture, she creates sculptural and functional works ranging from monumental totems and bas-reliefs to furniture, lighting and vessels. Drawing inspiration from modernist architecture, natural landscapes and the play of light and shadow, her pieces combine minimal, geometric forms with an organic, tactile sensibility. Handmade in her studio, each work reflects a contemporary reinterpretation of the decorative arts, where material, intuition and craftsmanship converge.
