The PP106 Chair by PP Møbler, designed by Hans J. Wegner, is an elegant lounge chair with a light and sculptural structure. Its fluid lines in solid wood define a large suspended seat, with rope weaves that enhance the play of solids and voids. The design harmoniously balances solidity and lightness, creating an iconic piece that combines timeless aesthetics and comfort.
PP Møbler
PP Møbler is a historic Danish brand specialized in solid wood processing, reviving the tradition of artisan cabinetmaking. A small family-run company, most of its production was designed by one of the most important and famous masters of Danish design, Hans J. Wegner, who began collaborating with PP Møbler in the 1960s. From 1962 to 1968, in fact, Wegner worked with the company to create prototypes and experiments with furniture with an innovative and unconventional design.
Jørgen Høj
Jørgen Høj (1925-1994) was a Danish designer known for his functional and minimalist approach. Trained as a metalworker and upholsterer, he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts and opened his own studio in 1955. He collaborated with Poul Kjærholm, presenting self-assembling furniture to the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild. He worked for Vitsœ, PP Møbler and designed cinema and shop interiors in Scandinavia. Among his most iconic designs are elegant wooden trays and furniture made from industrial materials. His work left a distinctive mark on 20th-century Danish design.
Poul Kjærholm
Poul Kjærholm was a Danish architect and designer. He trained as a carpenter and later studied at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He developed an interest in steel, which he considered a material with the same artistic refinement as other natural materials: he is in fact remembered today for his predilection towards this metal, in contrast to the use of wood preferred by his Scandinavian colleagues. He worked for Fritz Hansen for about a year, for which he designed a series of chair prototypes. In 1955 he established a collaboration with the manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen, which lasted until his death in 1980. A few years later, in 1982, Fritz Hansen decided to take over the production and sale of the Kjærholm Collection, a collection with an aura of exclusivity that was developed by the designer from 1951 to 1967.
