Designed by Miguel Milà in 1962, the Cesta lamp is inspired by an opaline globe that the designer found while walking in Barcelona. The name "Cesta" comes from the "basket"-shaped support that Milà created to house the light source. With its elegant design, it integrates perfectly into any type of environment. Dimmable LED bulb included (E27 12W).
Santa & Cole
Santa & Cole is a small independent brand of design products, based in Belloch (Barcelona, Spain). Since 1985, the year the company was founded, they have been editing. Founded by Nina Masó, Javier Nieto Santa and Gabriel Ordeig Cole, the company initially focused on creating exceptional lamps for some of the most famous bars in Barcelona. At a time when halogen lamps were all the rage, Santa & Cole introduced the use of natural materials such as wood, sewn cardboard or ribbons, creating a human and warm atmosphere.
Miguel Milá, born in Barcelona in 1931, is one of the pioneers of modern Spanish design. He began his career in the 1950s, when industrial design arrived in Spain for the first time. Despite the strong passion for new techniques and new generation materials, Milá often refers to craftsmanship and tradition. He is co-founder of the Spanish brand Tramo, short for “Trabajos molestos”, created together with his colleagues Francisco Ribas Barangé and Eduardo Pérez Ullibarri, for which he designed the TMM (1961) and Cesta (1964) lamps. In 1987 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Diseño and in 2008 with the Compasso d'Oro, in recognition of his long career and his contribution to the promotion of Spanish design.
