The Potence and Petite Potence, designed by Jean Prouvé and produced by Vitra, are wall lamps with an essential, industrial design. The larger Potence has a long, adjustable metal arm fixed to the wall, while the Petite Potence is a more compact version with the same minimalist style. Both feature a steel frame with a painted finish and an exposed cable, evoking Prouvé's typical functional and rational aesthetic.

Founded in the 1950s, Vitra is a Swiss company committed to improving the quality of the environment in homes, offices and public spaces through the use of design. Jean Prouvé was a French architect and designer, born in Paris in 1901. He began his training as a self-taught architect, later working in the workshop of a blacksmith and finally opening his own workshop and design atelier in 1924. He was one of the first to devote himself to metal prefabrication, becoming a consultant and collaborator of several architects and designers such as Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand. Jean Prouvé has left an important mark on the history of architecture and design: his projects combine material and structural functionality with aesthetic beauty.
