Designed by Marc Krusin for Desalto, the Clay table is a perfect fusion of art and design. Two geometric volumes – a conical base and a circular top – meet in a bold balance, creating a sculptural form that defies gravity. The hand-spatulated surfaces, crafted by hand, make each piece unique.
Desalto
Desalto, born as a family business specialized in metalworking, is today a reference in design, combining tradition, innovation and technical mastery. With a strong experimental spirit, it offers designers fertile ground for creativity. Guided by the values of Made in Italy and production flexibility, Desalto creates sculptural and functional furniture, the result of technological research and investigation into materials. Metal, the heart of its identity, is masterfully transformed into pure and essential objects, symbols of a perfect balance between design, innovation and functionality.
Marc Krusin began his career in Italy where he worked in the heart of Milanese design for over 13 years. He becomes Piero Lissoni's right-hand man and associate, managing various types of projects, from industrial design to interior architecture, for an international clientele. In 2009 he opened his own studio in London and continues to design spaces and products for clients in different countries around the world. Among these Knoll and Desalto for which he created the award-winning Clay table, which has become one of the company's icons, and the Mini Clay coffee table series. In addition to his activity as a designer, Marc teaches at some universities in Europe and Australia and regularly speaks about his experiences at events and conferences to which he is invited to participate.
