Recycled glass
The Babar collection by Glas Italia, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is a meeting between nature and design. Tables and consoles are born from recycled glass granules, transformed into organic and irregular surfaces, where each piece is unique like a stone smoothed by time. The soft shades—ice, jade, honey—tell the material with vibrant nuances.
Glas Italia
Founded in Macherio, Brianza, in 1972, Glas Italia is a company that stands out for the production of furniture and accessories entirely in glass. From tables to mirrors, from doors to partition walls: the products are the symbol of strong contemporary influences and attentive to the needs of the most innovative interior design trends. Study and design make use of the most advanced technologies and collaboration with internationally renowned designers, who see in the company the possibility of realizing the ideas of their creative talent.
Patricia Urquiola
Patricia Urquiola, born in Oviedo in 1961, graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1989 with a thesis on "Living as a system", under the guidance of Achille Castiglioni. He began his career with collaborations with designers such as Castiglioni, Botticelli, De Padova and Magistretti. In 2001 he opened his own studio in Milan, now made up of around 70 people, where he deals with the design of objects, interiors, architecture and installations. His work is inspired by the tradition of his land, reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
