Mario Tsai Soft Power
In the heart of Milan, Spotti has always been a point of reference for excellent design, a space where ideas, aesthetics and innovation meet to give life to unique projects. For Milan Design Week 2024, Spotti and Mario Tsai Studio collaborate to present Soft Power, an exhibition that explores the delicate balance between softness and strength, challenging the conventions of contemporary design.

In 2022, Mario Tsai Studio launched an independent research project on the concept of “Soft Power,” investigating the fusion of lightness and tension to create works in which materials and forms interact with elegance and dynamism. Through material experimentation, technological research, and an analysis of production processes, the studio has developed two interconnected collections: Sparks and Soft Collection. Each piece embodies a perfect balance between tension and fluidity, demonstrating how softness can exert power through movement, elasticity, and refined craftsmanship.

Soft RUI: A Collaboration between Design and Fashion
Expanding this vision, Mario Tsai collaborates with fashion brand RUIbuilt to present the Soft RUI collection, a series of lighting characterized by fluidity, flexibility and soft, organic forms. This collaboration perfectly embodies the philosophy of Soft Power, exploring new interactions between materials and forms in the world of design and fashion. Through these works, Soft Power challenges the conventional perception of strength, demonstrating that true power does not lie in rigidity, but in the ability to adapt, transform and express elegance and lightness.

Sparks: The Rhythm of Light and Sound
The Sparks series uses elasticity and oscillation to create a dynamic sensory experience. The interaction between the structures and the movement generates a play of flickering lights and crystalline and harmonious sounds, evoking the spontaneous energy of nature. This synergy between light, sound and movement redefines the perception of materials and the surrounding space.

Soft Collection: The Art of Tension and Form
Breaking the boundaries between fashion and industrial design, the Soft Collection uses a point traction technique to shape elastic materials, creating sculptural forms with fluid and natural lines. Inspired by tailoring processes, this approach transforms the flexibility of materials into designs that combine elegance and structural solidity.
