A perfect match between innovation and comfort, the Standard Sofa by Edra, designed by Francesco Binfaré, redefines the concept of relaxation. With its Intelligent Cushion, each element transforms, adapting to the body and desire, creating a seat that changes shape like a living sculpture.
Edra
Founded in Tuscany in 1987 by the Mazzei family, Edra has become a global design leader. Renowned for its visionary approach and outstanding quality, the brand creates furniture beyond trends and conventions.
Its collections blend artistic heritage with cutting-edge technology, resulting in iconic sofas, chairs, and furnishings that suit any space—defined by craftsmanship and creative innovation.
Francesco Binfaré was born in 1939 in Milan. Artist, designer and creative director, he is defined by many as the master of "soft design": his furnishings with soft and enveloping shapes seem to express a design that "embraces" and responds to the needs of the modern world. Known in particular for his sofas, Francesco Binfaré has created highly expressive seats such as the Pack sofa by Edra, in which the base resembles an ice floe and the backrest takes the form of a soft bear lying on its side. After his artistic training with his father, Francesco Binfarè began working with Cassina, directing the Cesare Cassina Center from 1969 to 1976. In 2002 he began relationships with the Edra brand, with which still collaborates today. The designer proposes a new way of experiencing relaxation through highly dynamic, versatile and multifunctional sofas with new shapes such as the Flap sofa, the Standard sofa and the On the Rocks modular system completely devoid of rigidity.
