The L25 lamp designed in 1925 with a rigorous geometric shape, has never been mass-produced, until today. Tecta has produced a limited series of 200 numbered and signed pieces, faithful to the original dimensions. This aluminum table lamp combines modern LED technology with fascinating details, such as the painted luminaria inside the lampshade. Rietveld has created a small but extraordinary sculpture, perfect for enriching any table or windowsill.
Tecta
Tecta is synonymous with Bauhaus conceived in a contemporary key, based in Lauenförde, on the curved banks of the Weser. It is in the Tecta studio in this town that for over 40 years the avant-gardes of design have followed one another: the British architect Smithson, the architect of Mies van der Rohe, Sergius Ruegenberg, Jean Prouvé, the designer Stefan Wewerka and Ati Gropius, the daughter of the founder of the Bauhaus.
Gerrit Thomas Rietveld was a Dutch architect, designer and craftsman. He was born in Utrecht in 1888 and trained as a cabinetmaker in his carpenter father's workshop. In 1918 he joined the neoplastic artistic movement De Stijl, characterized by the use of line, space and primary colours. Characteristic of Rietveld are in fact the use and processing of wood, both artisanal and elegant: many of his furniture were made with standard size strips, as Rietveld hoped they would be mass-produced, rather than hand-made.
